Final Fantasy XII's HD remaster launches exclusively for PS4 on July 11, publisher Square Enix has announced.
It should be noted that the date has only been confirmed for Europe and North America; Australia's release date has yet to be revealed.
The remaster, whose full title is Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, was first announced in June 2016. It reportedly features better-looking backgrounds, character models, and cutscenes, while there will also be support for 7.1 surround sound. Additionally, players can choose between Japanese and English voices, while there will also be the option to use the "original" music or the "re-recorded" score.
Square Enix also said loading times have been reduced, an auto-save feature is being added, and Turbo Mode is being improved. Take a look at the remaster in the video above.
Final Fantasy XII was originally released on PS2 back in 2006. For more, check out GameSpot's review.
The most recent Final Fantasy release was 2016's Final Fantasy XV. While our reviewer, Peter Brown, didn't enjoy the game's characters, he thought its "beautiful world and exciting challenges save the day."
