    Red Dead Redemption 2 gets a firm console release date, new screenshots

    ...but there's still no word about a PC release.


    Originally scheduled to release mid-year, Red Dead Redemption 2 will now launch on October 26 – but it's still only confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One. The news came today via an official Rockstar statement along with a handful of new screenshots.
    "We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay," the statement reads. "While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it."
    If a PC release does get announced at some point, I'd speculate that it won't release on PC this October. The PC version of GTA 5 didn't come until after two consecutive console generation releases, but when it did, it did so with new features. I remain confident it will make the leap eventually, given Rockstar and Take-Two's success with GTA Online.
